We are Nine Girls from Outer Space, two music nerves, with visions and words in our heads and bodies. We are in love with good old and coming Pop, Rock, Blues...
We met each other one night on march or april, I think. Before that, on February 2009 I spent a month of freedom in Mexico. I was not looking for it, but I was cured from an inside rage that I had since I left my 12 years old band: A. Larsen. Since them and until I came back from Mexico, I wasn´t able to even look at my guitar. This was a 5 year rage.

I finished working that night, tired of what we later will call: locutoriooooo (cyber-store) - Please enphasize on the "o"s when you say it: locutooooooorioooooo - I changed my clothes right there, in the smallest bathroom you can imagine, and walked several blocks to the Costello Room, on Caballero de Gracia Street /Madrid center. I was meeting there with a guy called Alakran. We decided to meet there after chatting on one of these nice "carapapa" music pages I use to find musicians on the internet. I played with some other bands before but I was upset with music and with the whole world but wanted to fall in love with both of them again...  It was nice to find out, he was on the same situation...

The girly girl replied an ad I posted on "solomusicos.com" and agreed to meet at the Costello´s. We had a couple of beers and talked about our experiences and what we could do or not do together. I remember how she kept on trying to stress me saying that I was very quiet, this made me speak less... This is her way to get all the attention. So... she is a frontbaby and was making me see how "pelotuda" she is.
When we said goodbye, I must admit that, on my way home, my belly tickled inside. I knew I was going to make music with her.

We had a full time studio for us to use, Left Hand Records and composed these songs, we recorded them finding a sound, learning from each other at all time, loving each other. We took advantage of this energy brightly. On summer 2009 we already had 12 songs. On our way to this, we met Mauricio Brantes who joinned us playing the bass guitar. Edna Louis (La Cami) used to tell me how she was learning a lot being at the studio. She could hear her voice and music as never before. So, we harmonize the songs and the songs became alive.

For the recording of "Good morning" we were lucky enough to share the collaboration and help of our friend and drummer Coki Giménez http://www.herecomesthedrummer.com/baterista/Coki_Gimenez. On December 2009, we moved the Studio to Torremolinos and recorded the drums for 10 songs.
We had a Demo...  so Nine Girls from Outer Space hid the road and travelled around the country on 2010. We were Mauricio Brantes (Bass Player) Juanma Alakrán (Guitars and machines) and Edna Louis (La Cami) Vocals. We were playing live, recording and meeting for rehearsals, depending on the day.

The live shows were very powerful. Edna Louis use to talk to me at the end of every song, joking about me, making fun and I was mean to her so the audience smiled and laugh. After a dark song, there goes Edna fooling around... I love it. This was all the time. The people always got involved, they could say things like: "Come on, Pimpinela!" and so Edna would answer: "Why don´t you stop taking pictures of yourself for the Facebook, girl?" (with andalucian/argentinan accent) Then I could say: "Leave them alone, let them do what they want!" all this, open mic. She could answer: "But, I thought you hated Facebook, Alakran!" All this becomes a strange funny tension. As it wasn´t prepared, we were us on stage... it was fun... in and outside the stage. On August, Brantes left Nine Girls and from this day, we stayed just Edna and me.

Time went by and nights became mornings in the studio. We weren´t aware of the hours. We had fun and learned a lot between laughs, beers and Berzian miracle water. Some of these nights we used to hang around the Malasaña and Chueca bars.
There is a plant in the studio which almost got raped by Edna Louis one day. We were doing experimental songs with crazy rythms and sounding snakes. She stood up from the sofa and walked to the plant... ¿where are you going, Edna? I asked her. She started to whisper something in the so-called ear of a green leave. The sleepwalk lasted for 2 minutes. When she woke up, she was next to the pot, searching for somebosy´s so-called blue jeans zipper with her hands in the stem. The next day, she draw a face on one of the leaves. I suposed it was to make herself believe this act. An act which made the room be Wonderland for a moment.

What went on with my little plant´s eye, happened while I was in the dream, in that moment. The leave was talking to me. She was telling me that she couldn´t look at me because she had no eyes. I answered her: "don´t worry, love, I will give you the eyes" and I draw just one eye with no time for more ´cause when I noticed what was happening I was back on earth.

Oh, yes OK, but the next day you finished the face, didn´t you?

On summer 2011 we had the 10 songs recorded and mixed and by september, the mastering was finished. All in Left Hand Records. To celebrate it we flew to Lanzarote...

We wanted the name of the production to express the way we were feeling. Before Nine Girls from Outer Space, our experiences with other bands had been a thunderstorm, a bad night. We thought different names but we ended up calling it "Good Morning". We made this decission at the Bajondillo Beach, dawning.

After our trip to Lanzarote, Edna Louis returned back home to Argentina, where she actually lives. We keep working together and we are waiting for the oficial Good morning launch and worldwide presentation, so we can return to wallow on the stages sand again.
